Mrs. Nancy (Monte Carlo) Baker passed away on August 12, 2009 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Formerly of Windsor, CT, Nancy was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 15, 1944, the daughter of the late Peter and Frances DeMarco. Nancy is survived by her loving husband Milton P. Baker. Nancy leaves behind the light of her life, granddaughter, Adeline Rose as well as her daughter and son-in-law, Cathe and David Evans of Raleigh, NC. She is also survived by her sister Margie Krawczynski and brothers, Jim DeMarco and Russell DeMarco. Her favorite nieces and nephews will miss her dearly. Nancy was predeceased by her sister Sara and brother Anthony. She is also missed by so many others whose lives she touched.

Nancy worked for over 25 years at Selig Jewelers in Windsor, CT and most recently at Coastal Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, NC. A few years ago she and her husband moved to Raleigh, NC to spend more time with her granddaughter. She cherished her time with Adeline and didn’t know the word “no” when her granddaughter was around. Nancy had a quiet cool about her and loved to dance. Some of her favorite times were in Manhattan and Las Vegas with her dear friends Sharran and Barbara. Although she enjoyed time in the big cities, she would curl up with a good book on the beautiful porch that Miltie built for her. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the wonderful ICU nurses and the incredible doctors at Duke Raleigh Hospital.

A memorial service celebrating Nancy’s life will be held on August 29, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church at 285 Church Street in Hartford, CT. A reception will be held afterwards.
